How to Start a 90s Movie Club

1:28:00 PM

We all know by now that the 90s are alive and well in the fashion world, which is cool.

But culturally speaking, what else can we be doing to dive deeper? To further immerse ourselves into the everyday nuances of this bygone decade?

I know, start a 90s movie club! This is something my girlfriends and I came up with recently, and I only wish we had thought of it sooner. The awesome thing is that club membership guarantees not only the development of your 90s cultural expertise, but also quality time to catch up with your people. And what could be better than that?

- Friends
- Snacks
- Cocktails or wine
- Movie playing equipment
- Movie

I even made a list of movie suggestions to get you started. Our club has already watched #1 and #2. Turns out we are into Kirsten Dunst.

There she is!!

Ok the list:
  1. Drop Dead Gorgeous. Small town beauty pageant turns deadly. All star cast includes Kirstie Alley, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, and Denise Richards.
  2. All I Wanna Do. The students of an all girls boarding school sabotage the plans of the trustees to merge with the neighboring school for boys.
  3. Cruel Intentions. Sarah Michelle Gellar bets Ryan Phillippe that he won't be able to get with Reese Witherspoon. Steamy.
  4. Boys Don't Cry. Hillary Swank won an Oscar for her portrayal of a transgender teen in Nebraska.
  5. Ever After. A Drew Barrymore Cinderella story.
  6. 10 Things I Hate About You. 90s teen interpretation of Taming of the Shrew + Heath Ledger. Watch it.
  7. Can't Hardly Wait. Your classic night-of-graduation film.
  8. Kids. Following NYC teens through a debaucherous (to say the least) day. This one is intense.
  9. Rushmore. Wes Anderson movie, featuring this awesome song, which my friend in high school used as his voicemail greeting. Yesssssss.
  10. Election. A Reese Witherspoon film about student government elections.
